Role: Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £35,000-40,000 plus car / allowance

You will be working for one of the longest-established main contractors in the country. With operations across the country, you will work for a business specialising in main construction, residential developments and support services operating across numerous frameworks to deliver industry-leading projects for a raft of notable clients.
With a strong pipeline in new residential schemes, there is now the requirement for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to work alongside a Lead Surveyor and manage two new housing developments in Yorkshire. Significant future projects are planned and with an established Management Training scheme, progression to Senior Surveyor is defined and achievable.
To be applicable for this role, you must have 3+ years' experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor with experience in some form of residential building ie. private / social housing, care homes, student accommodation, apartment blocks etc.
To provide commercial support to senior surveying staff on one or a number of projects to ensure that projects are procured and delivered within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers' expectations.
·Compliance and achievement of Group, Division, project, procedures, personal targets and initiatives.
·Understand and promote the company values & comply with Group procedures.
·Proactively contribute to the project team.
·Build working relationships with supply chain, consultants and clients where appropriate.
·Work with project team to achieve or exceed budgeted target.
·Identify potential disputes in a timely manner to Line Manager.
·Place supply chain orders in accordance with the procurement schedule.
·Ensure subcontract orders accurately reflect the main contract requirements and scope of works.
·Accurately value, certify and issue any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.
·Ensure that external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date.
·Assist in the preparation of CVC reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on site and the final profit projection.
·Promote timely and equitable resolution of subcontract final accounts.
·Provide early warning of future financial problems and ensure accurate real time reporting.
·Manage and minimise non recoverable costs on projects.
Measures / Targets
·Demonstrate a clear understanding of company values & procedures. Deliver client satisfaction questionnaire at a minimum of 80%.
·Positive feedback from Lead Surveyor & Lead Site Manager.
·Positive feedback from supply chain & clients from 360 degree feedback.
·Project targets achieved or exceeded.
·Disputes identified and dealt with in a timely manner.
·Procurement schedule dates achieved.
·Minimal errors in subcontract orders prior to review by lead surveyor.
·Minimal disputes and positive feedback through 360 supply chain review process.
·Payments received on time, achieving a good level of 'overvalue', no 'undervalues', and a consistent negative WIP position.
·Information required for CVCs prepared in accordance with the reporting timetable, well considered and accurate.
·All final accounts finalised within 12 weeks of completion.
·Feedback from Lead Surveyor.
·Non recoverables of less than 1%.
Key Experience / Requirements
·3+ years experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor working for a housebuilder or main contractor
·Procurement, re-measurement, financial / cost control.
·Appropriate CSCS card.
·Valid driving licence.
·Working towards MCIOB or RICS.
·Good level of education to include 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, A Levels.
·Construction related degree or working towards conclusion.
